Meet our trainers
Over 100 combined years of experience, nationally ranked competitors, and a training director who runs the curriculum like a program.
Tyler
Tyler is DCF's Training Director and a Master Class IDPA shooter whose results on the clock speak for themselves. A sponsored member of the Nighthawk Custom competitive team, he trains and competes at a level most shooters only read about, and brings that standard to every class. As Training Director he oversees the curriculum and quality behind the entire program, so first-time shooters and seasoned carriers alike get instruction built on competition-tested fundamentals.
Jeff "Patch" Adams
Patch is a retired Special Forces Team Sergeant and Green Beret whose career spans elite military medicine and leadership, wildland firefighting as a crew boss, and community service as a former Colorado Outreach Mentor for the PTSD Foundation of America. His approach to training rests on a single principle: purpose is prevention. He brings that discipline, preparation and care for others into every class.
Mike Foster
Mike serves as the Colorado State Coordinator for the International Defensive Pistol Association and holds Expert Class ranking in every IDPA pistol division — a level of consistency few shooters in the state can match. That competition background carries straight into the classroom: a sharp eye for fundamentals, efficient movement and match-proven technique that holds up under real pressure, not just on a static range.
